Our Summer Outdoor Education Course bookings will be live February 17 2025

We will soon be opening bookings for the 2025 Summer season, we have an exciting range of courses available.

 

We are offering a wide range of Summer Sailing Courses, all recognised by Irish Sailing at a variety of levels, as well as multi-activity summer programmes.

​

Our Summer Outdoor Education courses are available for a range of age groups, and include an exciting opportunity for young people to take part in programmes that offer challenge, learning in the outdoors, fun, friendship and the opportunity to try a wide range of adventure activities. 

 

Please find below our list of summer programming for 2025:

Irish Sailing accredited programmes:

​

Start Sailing (one week only)

Price TBC

An introductory course with your first steps on becoming a competent sailor! This course is run Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4.30 pm, and is suitable for ages 10+. Participants will learn how to sail in Toppers, and have loads of fun exploring Kinsale harbour.

​

Basic Skills 1 & Basic Skills 2 (one week & two week options available)

These are a  progression from the Start Sailing courses, including Toppers & Picos. Learners will sharpen their skills, and can complete the courses in isolation or as two consecutive weeks including Basic Skills 1 and then Basic Skills 2.

​

Improving Skills 1 & 2 (two-week course)

Price TBC

After completing Basic Skills 1 & 2, participants are eligible to pursue more advanced sailing programmes such as Improving Skills.  There are options to complete Improving Skills over one week or two consecutive weeks. Develop the skills needed to handle & sail boats in moderate conditions.

Advanced Boat Handling (two-week course)

Price TBC

Following the successful completion of the Improving Skills course, learners are now eligible to pursue Advanced Boat Handling. This course is designed to fine tune skills & prepare learners to sail in strong winds.

Multi-activity programmes:

​

Explore Kinsale

Price TBC

This five day programme runs through the end of June through to late August, and is an exciting multi-activity programme for three distinct age groups (ages 8-10, 10-12, and 13-15). The courses run from 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, with a wide variety of activities, including: kayaking, rock climbing, stand up paddle-boarding, archery, bush-craft, body- boarding, canoeing and more!

Kinsale Mara

Price TBC

Our flagship Inclusion based summer programme. After the success of the 2024 programmes, we are very proud to offer further "Kinsale Mara" programmes in summer 2025. These are multi-activity programmes with a variety of water and land-based activities, run over four days (Tuesday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm). We welcome and value learners of all needs and backgrounds at KOEC, and look forward to welcoming you to the centre!
